I finished my 5 week fitness bootcamp class and lost a total of 5 pounds in 5 weeks. I have only gained weight for the past 4 years so I had set my sights low and really was only hoping to stop the gain. I was thrilled to actually lose a little weight.
If you are reading this blog, you are probably like me and tried diets with no results. My husband insists that if I just cut calories I should be able to lose weight. This has never worked for me. There are days that I barely eat...but I do drink a lot of coffee. I know that caffeine is bad for hypothyroid folks but I just couldn't make it through the day any other way.
The good news is that I didn't really change my diet during this program, I just changed my mind set. The program was from 5am-6am. I went to class, came home and ate a banana or a protein bar, then laid on the couch because I was so exhausted. I would get up at 6:45 and get my kids off to school and myself to work. The soreness and sheer exhaustion throughout the day reminded me how hard I had worked to lose weight so I was careful not to undo that hard work during the day. I also drank a ton of water during and after the class so that helped me stay full and flushed out toxins early in the day.
I honestly didn't feel better or have any more energy, but I did lose weight, so that made me pretty happy.
The bootcamp program that I participated in was similar to the Insanity or P90X programs. Our trainer admitted to taking moves directly from those videos. This bootcamp is pretty pricy so I am now going to attempt to repeat this program on my own at home.
